The original idea came from here but this is a slight variation. This one is made with patterned paper instead of fabric. All you need is a picture frame with glass. Behind the glass put any pattern paper you like (make sure it won't make your writing too hard to read - a small and/or light pattern seems to work the best).
The glass becomes your writing surface. Just use a dry erase marker on it.
